When creating my Made-to-Order’s (MTO’s), I am weaving and knotting thinking of you, whether its a wedding gift, baby gift, mother’s gift, or just for you. I believe art is more than the sum of materials and raw skill, but also the vision and talent and the transfer of energy from the process of creating an idea into reality into the energy you feel receiving that piece, giving it or sharing it in your world.

Easily my best seller - my Hat Racks - macrame hat holders that prominently display your wide brim hats, while keeping them safe, clean and out of the way. Functional Art, and always one-of-a-kind! I use deer or elk sheds I either find or they are donated to me for art or my clients provide their own sheds they’d like turned into his or her own hat rack. Tell me how many hats you’d like (plus you can stack your hats and get more in.. I hold 9 personal hats of mine in my 4 Hat Rack) and let me know how detailed you’d like it. Sometimes I add wood beads or even Elk Teeth, if you have an extra bit or piece you’d like incorporated. They make great gifts as well and I’ve made many MTO’s with a special someone in mind.
A sunny bright Made-To-Order Mother’s Day Sun Catcher. Materials included repurposed yarn from partially knit projects from a second hand store, each carefully unwound, and my personal vintage Waterford Crystals from my mother’s candelabra. This commission’s recipient loved Waterford Crystals and I wanted to pass along these timeless heirlooms. I love using repurposed, reused and recycled materials, breathing new life into the old and incorporating precious memories and keepsakes into new pieces beautiful pieces for you to enjoy.

Sunset Macrame Driftwood Dreamcatcher
This Made-to-Order (MTO) was designed with the intent to cover two weird cut out rectangles in my client’s wall at her lake house. The client wanted a larger, statement piece macrame inspired by the vibrant sunrises and sunsets. The two outer panels are weaved the dimensions of the cutouts to perfectly disguise the odd wall features, and the dreamcatcher hoop and hand dyed colors capture the beautiful hues of the sun as it rises and falls, reflecting on the ripples of the lake and fading in the sky. You can see the process from the original photo of the odd wall she had initially shared with me, my rough sketch vision and then the final product.
Jeweled Baby Mobile that turns into Dreamcatcher
It all begins with an idea.
This Made-to-Order is a Baby Mobile that grows with the child and turns into a Dreamcatcher. My Clients, a brother and sister, were gifting their other brother a baby gift. They had two individual stuffed cloud and star miniature pillows, and wanted them included in their gift, plus they wanted crystals included. I sourced 12 Australian crystals from a gem show, and used many different jewels and beads from my collection of second hand, broken and repurposed jewelry supplies. I used the star and cloud as inspiration and created a sky themed baby mobile full of whimsy. Every knot and connection is securely tied and coated in industrial jewelry adhesive so there are no loose small pieces.
As the baby grows, the mobile transforms
The base of the hoop is woven as a dreamcatcher with a galaxy inspired beaded spiral to captivate the little one as it spins suspended from the ceiling above. In a few years, the client can move the horizontal baby mobile base to a vertical position on the wall and replace the baby pillows on all the jeweled strands with feathers that I also provided. Hence, creating a wall-hanging dreamcatcher with a more grown up aesthetic while keeping the crescent moon and all the magic and whimsy of the original piece.
Branch Antler Macrame Fringe
This MTO (Made-To-Order) request was to incorporate a Southwestern vibe to match her Mexican blanket and incorporate two small deer antlers of hers, plus keeping her budget at $100. I found the branch hiking in her local San Juan Mountains and kept the actual knotting of macrame cord to a minimum, reducing the time and cost of the piece. I’ve hand dyed the macrame cord and included wood beads from thrifted napkin rings in the spirit of repurposing.
Antique Farm Straw Blade Macrame
I found these antique straw chopping blades on my Colorado 1900’s homestead farm house property. After a good sand, polish and seal, you could even read a John Deere serial number on the back of the teeth of some of the blades. I cut the dull blade into smaller sizes and used one as a macrame base, always repurposing and using unconventional materials. This piece was purchased as a Christmas gift for the client’s sister who is a rancher in Nebraska and it now hangs over their doorway on their ranch. I still have more of this antique ranching blade if you have an idea for your own repurposed piece of historical art.

Hand Painted Horse Skull Macrame Driftwood. The horse skull was gifted to me by a friend who had it on the front of his tiny home bus for many years and miles. The driftwood is collected by me guiding on the Arkansas River and the ombre forest paint theme is inspired by a Main Salmon River Trip in Idaho I took through the Moose Forest Fire in 2022. The sun and moon both were a constant amber rose glowing orb, day or night, the fire moon as we called it. Everything was draped in a hazy twilight of ombre roses, ambers and hues of violets and grays fading into the smoky midnight colors. I came home from this trip to find this skull hanging as a surprise on my gate, and promptly began my “Fire Moon” piece. This was my first rose gold leafing on a skull and I love how it turned out.
Vintage Capiz Shell Wall Hanging
This piece is inspired by my Granny Lou’s 70’s Capiz Shell Chandelier Light fixture, which I had a few remanent intact shell pieces from the original that had been traveling around in my (and my mother’s) craft supplies for literally decades. Using a branch for a natural aesthetic and turning it upwards for that longhorns vibe, the shells have a lovely play with the light and shadow on the wall, plus the client especially love’s that they have a bit of a wind chime quality as they softly dance in the breeze of their vent.
Dreamcatcher Inspired
I draw inspiration from the use of hoops in native cultures in traditional hangings to catch good dreams and allow the bad ones to pass through. I decorate my stylized embroidery hoop “dreamcatchers” with all kinds of lovelies: feathers, beads, jewels, maps, shells, branches, flowers (both real and artificial), deer sheds, branches, gemstones, lace, dollies, yarns, macrame, crystals, burlap, cotton, cactus, air plants and bits and pieces that are special to each client.
